Bare La Terre has a clear and heartfelt purpose: to bring simplicity, safety,
and calm back into how we care for young skin. In a world where skincare
has become increasingly complicated, trend-driven, and adult-focused, we
saw a growing gap between what children truly need and what the market
was offering. Parents may feel overwhelmed, unsure which products are
safe, necessary, or appropriate for their children.
As a paediatric dermatologist, I have noticed a shift in how children
themselves think about skincare. Influenced by social media, many are
becoming aware of beauty routines at an earlier age. They are curious,
eager to copy what they see, and sometimes drawn toward products that
are far too harsh or complex for their delicate skin. I have had young
patients, 9 or 10, telling me of their 7 or 8 step skincare routine. This
created a clear need: children deserved products designed specifically for
them — not diluted versions of adult formulas, and not trend-led solutions,
but truly child-first skincare.
Bare La Terre was born from the belief that childhood skincare should be
gentle, minimal, and protective. Children’s skin is naturally healthy and
still developing. It does not need strong actives, complicated ingredient
lists, or intensive routines. What it needs is support: products that maintain
the natural skin barrier, prevent dryness, and soothe everyday irritation
caused by weather, washing, and active play.
Bare La Terre also wanted to give parents peace of mind. Many families
today are increasingly conscious about what goes into the products they
use, especially for their children. They worry about harsh chemicals,
unnecessary fragrances, and overly complex formulations. From the
beginning, we committed to creating products with carefully chosen, well-
understood ingredients — free from unnecessary additives and designed to
be as gentle and safe as possible.
Beyond the products themselves, Bare La Terre aims to reshape the
conversation around children’s skincare. We believe it should not be tied
to beauty standards, perfection, or appearance. Instead, it should be part of
everyday wellbeing — just like brushing teeth or washing hands. Skincare
for children should focus on comfort, confidence, and building simple
lifelong habits of self-care.
We believe children should have the freedom to grow, explore, and play
without feeling pressure to “fix” or “improve” their skin. By offering
simple, age-appropriate solutions, we aim to protect that sense of ease and
innocence.
Ultimately, Barre La Terre was created because we saw a need for clarity
in a crowded and confusing space. We wanted to create a trusted source of
gentle, basic skincare that parents can rely on and children can use
comfortably. At its heart, our work is about supporting healthy skin in the
simplest way possible — because when it comes to children, less truly is more.
