The protection

What each layer of protection does.

  • SPF 50+

“Very high protection” is the wording UK and EU rules allow only for SPF 50+. The number rates how well it holds off UVB - the rays behind sunburn.

  • The UVA mark

UVA rays reach deeper and age skin rather than burn it. The circled UVA symbol is an EU standard: a product may only show it when its UVA protection is at least a third of its SPF. At SPF 50+, that is a high bar. Protection against both kinds of ray is what broad spectrum means.

  • Water resistant

Water resistance is tested, not absolute. The NHS advises reapplying straight after swimming and after towel drying, however long a product claims to last.

  • Non-comedogenic

Formulated so it will not block pores - which matters at an age when skin is starting to change.

Official guidance

Using it well matters as much as the number.

The advice below is not ours - it comes from the NHS and the British Association of Dermatologists, and it applies to any sunscreen, whichever brand is in your bag.

How much protection do children need?

The NHS advises at least SPF 30 for children from March to October, alongside shade between 11am and 3pm. Babies under six months should be kept out of direct strong sunlight altogether.

When should it go on?

The NHS advises applying sunscreen about 30 minutes before going out, and again just before, if a long stretch in the sun is planned.

How often should it be reapplied?

Every two hours, according to both the NHS and the British Association of Dermatologists - and straight after swimming, towel drying or sweating, even with a water-resistant product.

Is sunscreen enough on its own?

No. Both bodies treat sunscreen as one layer among several: shade in the middle of the day, clothing, a hat and sunglasses do the rest.

Questions

Asked by parents.

How is the sun cream best used?

The sun cream can be used on both the body and the face for a transparent and non-greasy finish.

Does it contain suspected hormone disruptors?

No - the formula uses advanced nano-free, next-generation UV filters, chosen so you can protect growing skin without worrying about suspected hormone disruptors.

Will it leave a white cast?

No. The advanced nano-free UV filters are completely transparent, leaving no chalky or ghostly residue on any skin tone - the cream melts invisibly into the skin.

What protection does it give?

Broad-spectrum SPF 50+ against both UVA and UVB rays, certified to the strict European standard.

Is it water-resistant?

Yes - the formula is water-resistant and carefully crafted not to clog pores, made for active days.

Is it vegan?

Yes - a vegan, clean and reef-safe formula made with natural plant-based preservatives and free from parabens or unnecessary additives.

Is it just for children?

No - it's made gentle enough for children's delicate skin, and the whole family can wear the same protection.

How is the stick best used?

Use all over the face and body. It's designed for precise, mess-free application - perfect for ears, lips and easy-to-miss spots during an active day, and small enough for any pocket.

How does it work with the Sun Cream?

Use the lightweight Sun Cream every morning for everyday protection, then keep the pocket-sized Sun Stick close by for easy top-ups throughout the day.

Is the bundle cheaper than buying separately?

Yes - sun cream and sun stick as a pair cost less than the two bought on their own. The exact saving is shown next to the price - and you also get free UK shipping above £40
